Pilates Flow

What is Pilates?

Pilates is an exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s.

He developed it as a cure for himself of childhood ailments. During World War I, he began teaching his methods to others, mostly military patients and it was used almost as physical therapy for them.

Health benefits and goals:

Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. The Pilates method is low impact, flattens the abdominal muscles and reshapes and tones the whole body without stressing the joints.

During the class we will put emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.

Regardless of your age or fitness level you will develop greater body awareness and strength.

If practiced with consistency, Pilates will make you feel and look better after just a few months.

Who can take part in Pilates?

Almost anyone looking for a complete body and core workout can do Pilates on a regular basis. Please consult your doctor if you’re unsure whether you’re fit enough to be taking part in these sports.

Will I need any Equipment?

There’s no equipment needed for Pilates.

All you will need is comfortable workout clothes, a big towel and water.
